Colour will vary from deep gray to black depending on alloy. Aluminum Black Metal Finish is also excellent for blackening name plates, plaques, trophies and other engraved items. The application on non-Aluminum metal is not recommended. The process for the Aluminum Black the same as for blueing. You can by adding water. If you do add water, you may not achieve the desired dark/black coating.
