TIS Guns Ltd operates as a Registered Firearms Dealer in accordance with UK firearms legislation, including the Firearms Act 1968 and subsequent amendments.

This policy explains the legal requirements that apply when purchasing regulated items from us.

Our Legal Position

We are legally required to verify eligibility before supplying firearms, ammunition and certain controlled items.

No regulated item will be transferred without full compliance with applicable legislation.

We reserve the right to refuse any transaction where we are not satisfied that legal requirements have been met.

Minimum Age Requirements

The following minimum age requirements apply:

Firearms and shotguns
You must be 18 years of age or over and hold the appropriate valid firearm certificate (FAC) or shotgun certificate (SGC).

Ammunition
You must be 18 years of age or over and hold a valid certificate authorising possession of the specific ammunition being purchased.

Air rifles and air pistols
You must be 18 years of age or over to purchase an air weapon.

Where relevant, additional restrictions may apply depending on product type.

Proof of age may be required at any stage of the transaction.

Certification Requirements

Where a firearm, shotgun, sound moderator, ammunition or other controlled component is purchased, you must:

Hold a valid and current firearm or shotgun certificate
Be authorised on that certificate for the specific item
Provide original documentation for verification prior to transfer
Ensure that certificate details are accurate and up to date

We may require sight of the original certificate at collection or prior to arranging transfer to another Registered Firearms Dealer.

Failure to provide valid documentation will result in refusal of the transaction.

Face-to-Face Collection and RFD Transfers

In accordance with UK law:

Firearms may only be transferred face-to-face at our premises or via transfer to a Registered Firearms Dealer nominated by you.

We will record all regulated transactions in our dealer register as required by law.

Where a transfer to another dealer is requested:

You are responsible for nominating a suitable Registered Firearms Dealer
Transfer fees may apply
The receiving dealer may charge a handling fee

No firearm will be dispatched directly to a residential address.

Ammunition and Explosive Components

Ammunition sales are subject to certificate verification.

The quantity purchased must not exceed the allowance stated on your certificate.

Reloading powders and primers are subject to additional regulatory controls and may only be supplied in accordance with explosives regulations.

We reserve the right to refuse supply where storage or legal compliance is in doubt.

Identity and Fraud Prevention

We may request additional identification where necessary.

Any attempt to provide false information, falsified documentation or misleading details may be reported to the relevant authorities.

We take fraud prevention and public safety extremely seriously.

Legal Compliance Responsibility

While we operate in strict accordance with UK firearms legislation, it remains your responsibility to:

Ensure your certification remains valid
Comply with storage requirements
Comply with transportation laws
Adhere to all conditions imposed on your certificate

If you are unsure about your legal position, you should contact your local police firearms licensing unit for guidance.

Right to Refuse

TIS Guns Ltd reserves the right to refuse any sale or transfer where:

Certification is not valid
Documentation is incomplete
Legal compliance cannot be verified
We reasonably believe the transaction would breach legislation

Public safety and legal compliance take precedence over all commercial considerations.
