Perma Blue Paste Gun Blue – Birchwood Casey. A dark blue colour for touch-up or complete reblueing. Birchwood Casey offers you the best ways to touch up scratches and worn spots or even completely reblue most guns. It will give a non-streaky, even blue-black finish to steel (except stainless). Perma Blue Gun Paste provides great blueing to metal that has already been thoroughly cleaned and is free of rust. Perma Blue Paste Gun Blue is slower to darken than Liquid Gun Blue, but will build up a denser finish. Please Note: Perma Blue Gun Blue Paste will not blue stainless steel, aluminum or non-ferrous metals. The chemical will not take to a metal that is not 100% steel. To confirm if you metal is steel place a magnet directly onto the metal. If the magnet does not stick the material it is not steel. Another reason that the chemical may not take to the metal is that it is not fully clean. Ordinary dish-washing liquid soap will work to clean the metal. After 3-4 coats the metal will not get any darker or better. Apply chemical cold using cotton swabs, synthetic brush or sponge.
